INGREDIENTS Dough: 1 ¼ cup all purpose flour 1/2 tsp fine sea salt 1 tsp white sugar 1 tsp instant dry yeast 1/2 cup lukewarm milk Some cooking oil
- In a large mixing bowl, sieve through flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Add milk. Mix them well until it comes like a dough. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Set aside in a room temperature to allow the dough to rise.
- Once the dough rises, punch the dough to release the air. Cover and let it rest for about 20 minutes.
FILLING 1/4 cup dark brown sugar 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder 2 Tbsp crushed peanuts
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
HOW TO MAKE HOTTEOK
- To prepare hotteok, place oil on your hands. Pull a portion of dough to make a ball. Flatten the dough with your hands and add filling. Seal the dough by gathering all sides. Pre-heat pan on medium heat. Add cooking oil, once it is heated place prepared dough. Cook the dough while pressing it onto the pan. Once the other side is brown, flip it to cook the other side. Allow the filling to melt inside.
- Serve hot.
